Lone Rider

Jorge Castellanos is a 25 year-old painter, born in Mexico City and trained at the prestigious La Esmeralda academy, who now lives in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. This is only the second solo show for this emerging artist whose work has been featured in group shows in Lima, Tokyo, New York City, and all across Mexico.

On the ground floor, he will be debuting new drawings and large-scale paintings that channel his oceanic obsessions through a haunted and ominous psychedelia. Upstairs, Jorge will present a series of equally impressive older works that will contextualize this young talent's exciting stylistic and conceptual trajectory.

Jorge Castellanos nació en el DF hace 25 años. Se entrenó en la prestigiada escuela de artes La Esmeralda y actualmente reside en Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Lone Rider es la segunda exposición individual de este artista emergente que ha mostrado su trabajo en exposiciones colectivas en Lima, Tokyo, Nueva York y alrededor de México.

En la planta baja de la galería Yautepec, debutarán sus nuevos dibujos y oleos a grande escala mismos que canalizan sus obsesiones con el mar a través de una siniestra psicodelia. En el segundo piso, Castellanos presentará una serie de obras igualmente impresionantes mismas que contextualizarán la emocionante y estilística trayectoria de este joven talento.
